The R4 project has a cache of robots and sensors that can be loaned out to researches in the United States . These are truly fieldable equipment, as they serve double duty as the CRASAR response team cache! This allows researches outside of USF to work on "real" equipment. CRASAR works with the manufacturers to provide APIs, software development kits, and hardware/sensor interface specifications and mounting plates.

Inuktun VGTV-extreme

Hardware: Inuktun VGTV-extreme series by American Standard Robotics. is a polymorphic robot, tethered, with color video and 2-2-way audio. All units have been modified to allow the insertion of sensor payloads- both to take power from robot and to transmit data. Software is developed through a laptop or computer connected through a serial interface. These can be sent as a system with field interface kits (backpack, camcorder, ruggedized laptop) or just the robot. The VGTV- extreme is also waterful and a small operator control unit.

PackBot

The PackBot is a man packable robot crated by iRobot. It is a polymorphic robot big enough to traverse stairs.

Canesta Sensor

The Canesta sensor produces false color depth images. For example, the image to the left shows two people (green) working at a computer

Persuit Sensor

The Pursuit sensor emits a special form of light which can be detected by a modified camera. This sensor does not pick up thermal images but is an active sensor causing the images to appear less fuzzy.

Triage Sensor

The Triage sensor is made of three sensors: a pulse oximeter, an oxygen sensor, and a carbon dioxide sensor. The Triage Sensor measures pulse and breathing.
